Description
Do your piano students completely stop practicing in December? Then you need this Christmas piano practice craft to encourage your students to enjoy playing the piano all the way to Christmas day!
This is Gnomie, and he will be your students’ piano practice buddy December 1-25 as they complete the Gnome for the Holidays piano practice countdown to Christmas!
Each gnome has 25 numbers on his beard and cap.
For each day a student practices during December, or plays Christmas carols for their family, or completes the task you give them, they will add one cotton ball to the gnome’s beard.
On day 25, Christmas day, the student will add the 25th cotton ball to the gnome’s cap and complete the countdown to Christmas!

- The small single-page gnomes are for each student to take home (or display in your studio – whatever works best for you!).
- You might use this as a practice incentive and award prizes to students who complete the incentive.
- You might choose to do a studio-wide practice challenge or allow students to complete it individually.
- To make things very easy for your students, send them home with the single-page gnome, a bag of 25 cotton balls, and a glue stick.
- For best results, use small cotton balls on the single-page gnome (roll them around in your hand to make them even smaller if needed), and use larger cotton balls on the two-page gnome.
- Have your students share a picture of their completed gnome on your studio Facebook page or other social media.
