Description
Teachers can use this piece as a launching point for a lesson in pentatonic tonalities, and it serves as a fun and easy exercise for weaving in and out of improvisation. (I love to take the arpeggiated chord sections and have students “noodle” on the pentatonic scale with the damper pedal down. It sounds great and they enjoy the way every note sounds correct!) Students can follow the pedaling or keep the damper pedal down the entire piece! I wrote this for a dear adult beginner to perform in recital since it sounds lovely, and a little more advanced.
- Optionally rote
